Published 11/10/21Our Year 5 children were lucky enough to meet Serena Patel, the author of the Anisha Accidental detective series last week. They enjoyed listening to an extract from her new book and asked Serena lots of questions about what inspired her to become an author.

Our Year 1 school trip!
Published 07/10/21On Tuesday our Year 1 children enjoyed their first school trip of the year. The Year 1 children went on a short bus ride into Leicester where we arrived at the Newarke Houses Museum. The children were learning about a selection of old and new toys, including toys that were played with 400 years ago!

Published 01/10/21Our Year 5 and 6 pupils enjoyed a visit from Malcolm Smith on Wednesday. Malcolm came to discuss parliament with the children.

Sticks and stones
Published 29/09/21Yesterday our Year 3 children took part in a Stone Age workshop. The children engaged in a carousel of activities which included: creating cave art, an archaeological dig and dressing up as people from the Stone age.

Published 23/09/21Our Year 1 children have been enjoying their first Cookery lesson as part of Curriculum enrichment.
First the children learnt about food hygiene and ensured they had washed their hands and were clean before handling the food.

Published 21/09/21Say Hi to Harper our new school therapy dog! Harper has been settling into her new home over the last couple of weeks. Harper is still undergoing puppy and therapy dog training until she is ready to meet the children.

Beat the street challenge!
Published 17/09/21We are pleased to announce that Rushey Mead Primary school achieved 3rd place in the 'Beat the street' challenge across Leicester city and Leicestershire. Over 500 of our children took part in exercising between the different points in the county. As a prize we have won £75 worth Of Waterstones vouchers which we are going to spend on a range of Sports related books!

Our new Allotment!
Published 16/09/21With the introduction of our new DSP unit, our allotment has been moved to the edge of the playground. The builders have built some new sleeper beds which the children will be planting towards the Spring term. The mud kitchen also arrived last week and will be ready for use too.
